This should be interesting.
The US has decided to shoot down a failed satellite that is expected to drop
out of orbit in early March.
There is concern that half of the 5,000 lb satellite may remain intact and
hit the earth in a yet unknown area.
The plan is to shoot it down before it enters the earth's atmosphere with a
missile fired from a US Navy ship.
Details at 11.
Apparently it's some version of the missile that has a 11 out of 13
success rate in testing.
Love to watch the shot - that ought to be fun to watch.
They are going to shoot it down right before it enters the atmosphere.

So, where are they gonna' "set" it down? Did you tell them yet? Do you
have a good place to watch from? You know, if you have em' bust it
right over your house, it would probably land on Harrys' LTP...- Hide quoted text -

With the rocket going up, and Tom looking for a place to sit and
observe, I am reminded of this clip, ......only in reverse.

One of the most fun things to do in this world is watch a missile shoot.
I got to watch a HAWK missile shoot quite a number of years ago. It was
almost as much fun as blowing up stuff yourself.

I'd pay money to be in the CIC of that cruiser when they shoot the bird
down.
