I can't see us coming up with a "modified" missile, launched from a
surface vessel, in just a couple of months that is capable of
intercepting an object in space.

I believe this is an opportunity to flex our muscles.

This is technology we have had for a long time. Remember the three
HDD's that Chinese agent took from Alemeda with a slap on the wrist,
( remember the 3 million campaign contribution the Chinese military
gave Billary before their final presidential run)? China shot a
sattelite down a few months back probably with our technology, we just
want them to know we can do it too...
