Especially after the first couple of years, the maintenance and usage
practices of the owners can have a greater impact on the quality of a
used boat than any difference in the original build. We've all seen
somebody turn what started out as a nice boat into a real garbage
barge, and we've all seen what began as a boat of only moderate

very well maintained and upgraded.

What is the criteria for a quality boat? If it is still shinny and has
that new boat smell three months after I bought it then it is a

If you buy something decently built and then abusively proceed to beat
the crap out of it for 2-3 years, is it entirely the fault of the
original mfgr when you begin having problems?
