Default Trailers?

Rump,
Take a look at 'Boat Trailers & Tow Vehicles' by Henkel. An 'older' volume,
but should give you an idea of the basics.

Glen-L {I think} has a set of plans for a steel frame trailer . . . not
exactly cheap. Stevensons Projects has a nice set of plans for a wooden
one - for $10.oo !! Capable of hauling their 14 foot x 6' 9" beam 'Motor
Sailer / Pocket Cruiser' - I got a set just to have available for almost any
boat I'll build.

Champion Trailer has a catalog that's well worth having. Almost everything
you can think of and some plans/pre-fab frames as well.

Another thought . . . while maybe not as 'elegant' as the Stevensons model,
or as complex & heavy as the Glen-L, or the 'panache' as building your own
'from scratch' . . . one of the ubiquitous 'Utility Trailers' may do the
job. I have a 'folding' model, that uses a 4x8 sheet of ply as a 'deck'. DOT
rated at 1,000 pounds capacity, it cost me about $250.oo at my local Home
Depot, and a lazy afternoon to assemble. Easy enough to build a 'cradle' to
hold a boat.

In addition, I've investigated the cost of new trailers for a West Wight
Potter P-15 I am refurbishing. $385 is the best price I've found from a
national manufacturer - SeaLion. There are a couple of others that come in
under $500.oo.

Regards & Good Luck,
