Yeah, except the pumps were running even though the fuel lines were
ruptured, pumping the fuel up to the fire floor....
Why would they be pumping fuel up the building when the gensets the fuel was
provided for were down with the fuel tanks in the basement?
Because there was a large generator on the fifth floor connected to
tanks in the basement via a pressurized line. The fire burned for
several hours in building 7, but there was no fire fighting conducted
there, deemed to risky to send people in.
