People need to figure out how they are going to pay for their own
health care. I have to pay for mine. In fact I usually end up spending
more that $12,000 per year out of pocket for mine and my family's
health care.
Socialized or single payer systems are just a fast track to rationing
of health care.
$12k a year?? You must be one sickly SOB!
How much do you pay up in Canuckastan? $12k is a little high, but for a
person over 50 you will pay probably $1100 month for insurance. For a
younger family, will be maybe $600 with a smaller deductible.
So far, it's included in the layers of federal/provincial taxes. People
can take out Blue cross etc for dental. drugs etc.
Since I'm still 'drug free' I just piggy back on my wife's retirement
medical insurance (re dental & new eyeglasses every second year or
so).....costs her $90.00 a month but used to be free for all the retirees
up till just before she left.
In 7 years when I hit 65 I'll go on the provincial pharmacare
program....... costs $400.00 per year with a modest co-pay.
But the question is how much does it cost you. Those huge tax levies for
health insurance are also a cost.
