You probably don't realize that is one of the fundamental
purposes of
the church that you fight so hard against ... to provide
an
outreach
into the local community to provide assistance to those
that
need it,
and as part of a larger organization to provide it on a
national and
world-wide level.
I don't fight against "the church" until it tries to shove
itself in my life.
Or, do like I do when the Jehovah's Witness' or Mormons
show up
at the door. I tell them I will listen to their pitch but,
they
first have to listen to my pitch to become a Catholic.
Usually
the say not thank you and get on their way.
You really truly are a dumb foch. I am not talking here
about the
door to door church people.
Enlighten me Mr. Genius! What is the difference between the
President of the US saying God Bless and the guy knocking on
your
door with the intent on converting you to his religion?
Neither of those events concern me.
Ok, what specific events concern you?
There are quite a few. Most of them concern churchies trying to
force
their beliefs on the rest of society. I'll bet with that hint,
you can
figure out one or two of them.
Don't Mormon's and Jehovah's Witness' fall into that category?
Let's see if you have any smarts...
I don't care what religions do (within reason) within their houses
of
worship, nor do I care what believers do in their homes. I am only
concerned when those religions or believers try to shove their
beliefs
onto my secular society. This is NOT a Christian nation, a Jewish
nation, a Muslim nation, et cetera. I don't want a bunch of
Christian
nut cases determining what is taught in public schools, when
"life"
begins, whether we should have abortions, what sort of stem cell
research is ok, what stores can remain open on Sunday, et cetera.

Yes, it is more about political agenda than compassion or logic...
I
get it...
No, you don't get it, either. In the examples I have given, people
of
a certain belief are trying to shove their sect's religious
doctrine on
others. It has nothing to do with compassion and it certainly has
nothing to do with logic.- Hide quoted text -

So tell us well heeled son, who has shoved religeon down your throat,
and what did it take to stop them? I mean, Vonage and Free Credit
Report.com try to give me a message every day, I don't mind, I just
don't pay attention. Have you ever been refused anything because you
were not willing to listen?
Oi!

C'mon Harry, I treat you honestly, answer my question...
We're not discussing the same thing here. The fundamentalist retardos
have limited the federal government's involvement in stem cell research.
Work on that awhile.

I did some research a while back with my kid (the one in DC working
for the lib lobby group) and she concluded as did I that there has
been many more successful projects from other forms of stem cells and
none from the embrionic type.. Aside from a desire to spend a lot of
money on projects that have resulted in zero progress is just not
practical to a lot of secularists like her either... Besides, I still
contend that we are not a secular society, that is the change that
your party wants. I don't fault you, just think you are wrong and
shortsighted...

The point I am making is that President Idiot restricted federal
involvement in stem cell research for religious reasons. On that basis
alone, the stupid SOB should have been impeached.

The reason he did it may be wrong, but keeping the government out of stem
cell research is probably a good thing. More progress, and better research
from private groups. Most of the government research goes 95% and then the
private Pharm companies go the last 5% and make the 100% money.
