Probably a waste of money, given the chronic bed shortage in our
(Canadian) hospitals, if there are no ward beds left open they'll put
you in private or semi-private at no extra cost. On the other hand even
if you have the coverage and request a private room but none are
available (often the case) then you get a semi-private or ward anyway.
