I have never had the need to open a can of food while in the car or away
from home. I open my cans with an electric can opener. John may want
to
look into these new contraptions so he does not have to carry his old
P-38
with him.
You really don't understand JimH.
Which is understandable.

Perhaps he's never gone camping or taken a can on his boat. Or, maybe he
takes a generator camping and on his boat.
You're right.

We did Thanksgiving last year in a place in Las Vegas. The kitchenette at
Hilton Grand Vacation Villas had everything but a can opener. Odd.
Realized that one of the blades on my Swiss Army Knife is basically a P-38.
Worked well. As to keeping some of the old stuff, Those who served spent a
lot of time and energy in the service. I did not go to Viet Nam as some
here did, I got a cushy job with airlift wing, fixing radars in a nice air
conditioned shop at Travis AFB. But I still use the necklace and whistle we
had to wear if on the flight line. I now use it to hold my fishing license
holder. Here in Nannystate, you have to visibly wear your license.
I don't know what Jimh's problem is. He's bitter about something, and it's
showing.
