Default Flushing an outboard motor

The shop manual says

The flush port puts water directly into the manifold, the same place
where the water pump puts it. I can copy the pages with the water flow
diagrams and post them if you like.

Of course, your manufacturer's maintenance manual trumps
anything you read here.... what does it say?
