Design Concept: "Entrapping water and hydrodynamic forces within the
inverted "V" channel so as to create a lift on entry"
Not exactly a new concept. That was the original idea behind the
cathedral hull as well. At least that's what the salesman told us when
we (actually, my Dad) bought a new Thunderbird in 1963. Just didn't
work in practice as well as it did on paper. The early model
Thunderbirds had lots of advantages but cushioned entry wasn't one of
'em.
