Reducing Risk from Small Vessels: The Coast Guard worked with small boat
manufacturers, industry groups and the public on mitigating the security
risks posed by small vessels. It has 13 Maritime Safety and Security Teams,
part of a 3,000 person Specialized Deployed Forces Command, stationed at
strategic ports nationwide with unique training to counter the small boats
threat. The Coast Guard and DNDO are collaborating with local authorities on
a pilot program in Puget Sound and San Diego waterways on small vessel
radiation detection.

Well. Sounds like I'm not going to be crossing your border any time
soon....

Two thoughts:

1: Summer of 2006 I got hailed by a Canadian Navy ship while sailing
off the South Coast of Newfoundland. They wanted me to fill out some
over the air questionnaire about what the heck I was doing. Said it
would only take about 15 minutes. I asked them to wait 10 minutes until
I tacked and they relented.

2: On the other hand, being a dual citizen, and ex-USGC guy, maybe I
should get a boat in the US and hire myself out to check on you willey
rascals for them. Make some retirement dough. They sure as heck don't
have enough resources to do anything meaningful.
