You're confusing watching the races and being on the beach watching the
tourists drive by.
Go to Daytona during bike week. Lots of interesting "sights" to observe.

We didn't live that far from Daytona when we were Floridians, so we
cruised on down there one Bike Week to enjoy the visuals. It was amazing
to see such a great number of "oversized" women cramming their
avoirdupois into such skimpy clothing.
