That's a good start for back country survival but it's important to
note that you cannot desalinate water with purification tablets, and
solar stills have a bad reputation. Therefore I would add bottled
water to the kit and some sort of high energy food like granola bars.
For use on a liferaft you can delete the matches, candle and
firestarter unless you have a reasonable chance of reaching land.


Water is in the First Aid kit - enough for two people, two days along
with protien bars - enough for a couple of days.

You would probably laugh at the First Aid kit, but when I explain the
presence of some of the items, it all seems to make sense and people
say - I never thought of that. :)

That's how I have room for all the other stuff.
