DU, unfired, is only marginally dangerous.

But, unfortunately for the oppressed we didn't murder, fired into
a tank it VAPORIZES into DUST to be INHALED, picked up on shoes
to be distributed or goes up in smoke to be breathed....for 4.5
billion years.

In this state, let's say you inhale the dust from an exploded
tank upwind, you now have a radioactive isotope that is a deadly
POISON, inside your lungs, creating isotopes of YOU in your now-
radioactive bloodstream.

Is that a better picture you're not supposed to think about?
