Default Pivoting cartop carrier?

Anybody remember seeing ads years ago for a device that let you fasten the
stern of a small boat to a short mast attached to the car's bumper, then
pick up the bow and rotate it on to the car top?

If anybody remembers such a thing, does anybody still make it? My
girlfriend's trying to find a way to load a 70-pound rowboat (Walker Bay
8) by herself.

The more I think about this, the less sense it makes. OK: She's got the
stern on the mast, then she lifts the bow off the ground to pivot it around,
and places it on the roof. I assume there's be a roof rack. Now what? Grab
the stern off the mast and try to lean over the trunk to push the whole
thing forward? Or, step around to the side of the car holding the stern, and
push diagonally or whatever?
