Waves now at 15.4 feet and building till midnight when the center of the
storm should pass.
I was outside and saw a number of flashes so I'd better power down the
computer and ride out the storm.
Had to rush out to 'The Binnacle' this afternoon to get a manual bilge
pump as a backup for my basement sump pump. I had let my two pumps go
with the Sandpiper 565 when I sold it in August.
Tom might be pleased to know that the pump was manufactured in Bridgeport
CT

Isn't that interesting. Last time I was in Bridgeport, I drove through it
quickly. I knew quite a few kids from Bridgeport when I was in junior and
senior high.

Owned a house in which I had a battery operated backup sump pump. If the
electric kicked off, two 12V car batteries ran the pump. It proved its
worth at least a half dozen times while we lived in that house.

that would make more sense... who wants to be down in the basement pumping
away for hours in the middle of the night.

BTW.. so far so good.. We may have had a blink or two but the power stayed
on.

As far as the waves at the harbour mouth... still over 26 feet high as we
speak.. but the max was at 0500 hrs this morning with a height of 33.8
feet.
I may run down to Lawrencetown Beach this morning and watch the surfers take
advantage of the conditions.

Take some photos. I haven't seen 26' waves since Skipper, Dan, and Bert
Robbins swirled around the toilet bowl on their way to the septic tank.
