You will find navigation applications for the Mac as well.

I don't know anyone who has their radar on a PC but I guess it is
possible. I run my PC chart plotting software as a backup and
supplement to dedicated Furuno equipment. They are both quite
reliable. The secret is to keep your PC uncluttered with a lot of
other stuff.
