Stripped OutDrive DipStick
Local autoparts store should carry a Heli-coil kit. Just get the correct
thread size and go for it. BTW, water in the drive doesn't work well.

aluminum from the
cover was wrapped around the stick threads, a small piece was loose in
the hole ,which
I managed to get out. I saw the bolts you described, so I guess the
whole piece comes
off,uhh? I'm ****ed at myself as of this writing,i didn't apply that
much pressure and
it took a good bit of pressure to get it off. I really wanted to get out
this weekend,but
your making me nervous ,i thought that since its on top and its semi
secure and out of the
water that I should be ok,until I get it repaired. Thanks Larry
