Hi,
Left Brisbane 7 years ago and are currently in Malaysia. Have cruised
a lot of the Indian Ocean. Would suggest very strongly that you look
at other boats in preference to Beneteaus. Hardly any ocean cruisers
have them as they are not the type of craft suited to ocean sailing.
Have only seen one amongst the 100's of cruising boats that we have
come across. I believe there is a Najad in Tassie that would be worth
a look. (Aurora III). I will be returning to Aust later this year by
air then will head for Tassie to see family. Would be glad to help out
if possible. I was in the same position as you 8 years ago.
Regards
Tony
I think Aurora III has been sold. Lovely, but these boats are beyond my
means.
I'm basically a coastal cruiser Tony and that's why I've settled on
Beneteau. They seem to me to have an adequate hull structure and rig. For
the price of these boats I figure I can spend some money tailoring the rest
to my liking.
I only intend to make one ocean passage in it. When the time comes, if I'm
not comfortable with the risk, I'll stick it on a ship for that leg.
