It turns out one of my favorite mooring areas has several
public, first
come first serve moorings, but they have no line. As it
turns out, I
have a similar gadget, designed to attach to a mop handle,
but I always
forget to show my wife how to use it before we go to this
island! I've
found its pretty easy to back up to the ball so my wife
can feed a line
through while standing on the swim platform.

I've done that, but I've found that I can easily pick up the
ball, with my boat hook, to where I can reach it from the
deck.
