Senator Jim De Mint South Carolina (202)224-6121

Done. Talked to Jim, himself, for about 4 minutes. Of course, he
wouldn't commit one way or the other before putting his finger in the
air to sense the breeze of corporate campaign money from the
lobbyists, who control his vote not the people of South Carolina,
just like the rest of them.

You Neocon Republican boaters need to make a note that the senator
who sponsored the amendment to save your ass is a DEMOCAN, not a
Republicrat, which I find very enlightening. His boat lobby stands
to lose a bundle, I suppose.

You may have DeMint (R-SC) confused with DeWine (former R-OH). DeMint
is one of the Senate's few pork-busters, and he even took the
classical Davey Crockett position on federal disaster "relief" (i.e.:
it's ineffective and unconstitutional).

What does he think the government should do if, for instance, an entire
community is wiped out by a storm, fire, or whatever?

Follow the tenth amendment. You know, that pesky "Constitution" thingy.

Here's the Crockett story; it's obvious you need some learnin':

No time right now.

What *SHOULD* the government do? Nothing at all?

Yes or no?

Should the government do nothing at all?
