I would guess the boat slipped out of the rig. The front
strap seems to be pretty far back. You could convince
yourself that the screws have been torn off from the final
picture, which would have happened if it slide out of the rig.
Also there is an "oil slick" around the boat in the final
picture, or poor editing?




The info on scopes says the strap broke. I can't imagine what the guy in
the back of the boat is thinking. He doesn't look happy. Fortunately, he
wasn't hurt.

I think he got his wish... perhaps a bit faster than he was expecting. I
asked a lift operator if he'd ever dropped a boat, and he said not that I'd
admit to. :-)
