anesthetized, sliced open, her gallbladder removed and the necessary
passages sealed off or sewed together as needed, and her flesh sewed
back up. This was done to preserve her quality of life from
gallbladder attacks. It was done almost fifty years ago when ether or
chloroform were the anesthetics and modern life support equipment as
such didn't exist. Do you think the Africans, without Western
support, could do something like that in this, or any time in the
next hundred centuries, without killing the patient?
