Is it a vinyl overlay or is it placed into the gel coat - makes a
difference.

If it's a vinyl overlay, then a heat gun on low will remove the tape.
Clean with acetone and replace the tape.

If it's layed under the gel coat, it needs to replaced by an
experienced glass repair person.


As always, good advice Tom.

A caution though.............be careful if using a heat gun as you can melt
the gelcoat pretty easily, thus the Toms advice on keeping it on low, and
far enough from the boat. I learned the hard way several years ago when
removing striping from our 270 Sundancer. A hairdryer will do the job,
without the danger of melting the gelcoat........if you have the patience.
