Lubberly types often ask how much room we have on the Grand Banks when
they hear that we're living aboard for the summer. I usually tell
them it's about the same as a good sized RV which I think is about
right although I'm not much of an RV expert. We definitely have more
levels though, and are a good bit more sea worthy.
A plus and also a minus of the GB is the cabin width due to the wide
exterior walk around deck.
The 36' GB's cabin is just over 8 feet wide .... just about the width of a
class A motorhome RV.
The Navigator has a much narrower walkaround, but the main cabin interior is
almost
14 feet wide.
Your 49' cabin is probably wider, as I am sure you have a wider beam than
our 36' which is just over 12'.
