Pictures of a wonderful cruise on board the Holland, a famous Dutch ocean-going Tug, which has been restored to it's former glory. The cruise was organized by the regional development agency for the northern part of the province of Noord-Holland. I was lucky enough to be invited on board. (work CAN be fun!!!)
The pictures include:
- pictures of the engine room (including the Werkspoor diesel engine and controls),
- the beautiful 1st class lounge (the Holland was built as a Tug, with ferry accommodation, to transport passengers from Harlingen to Terschelling (and vice versa) by the Doeksen Shipping company, which still operates the ferries between Harlingen and Terschelling,
- The bridge and radio room
- View on Terschelling from the bridge
- Views on the harbour of Terschelling, including some traditional Dutch flat-bottoms
- Some shots of the fast RIB, which met up with us halfway between Terschelling and Harlingen. We were all allowed a rather quick, wet and exciting shot of Adrenalin….
- Shots of the Harlingen - Vlieland ferry

Enjoy (at least I enjoyed the experience!!)
