help my outboard johnson 115 1977 seems to be loosing oil out the
prop area when i am running it in my yard the oil in the leg seems
good and clean just changed but the oil out the prop is black, as well
when i start my engine the battery cables heat up burnt my fingers any
advice would be greatly appreciated for i am new to the water

That "oil" out of the prop may just be exhaust. The battery cable I
can not answer at this time.

thanks paul, i think the cable was a loose ground on the motor

No problem. A loose cable would cause over heating of a cable.

a second opinion thinks it may be a blown seal, which doesnt sound
cheap. anyway off to the mechanic i suppose.
