Does anyone have any ideas for cleaning a blackened mike
cord? I tried good ol' soap and water, even a green kitchen scourer,
but it only removed a bit of the surface material. I know it can come
off, as I ran the edge of a box knife blade along the cord and it
scraped some of the material off, but I don't really want to sit there
for 3 - 4 hours trying to do the whole cord this way. Anyone know of
any kind of solvent than can do the job without eating the cord away?


Try Goo Gone. Available in the section of the grocery store that carries
weird miscellaneous little bottles of cleaning stuff.
