Hi thanks for replying
Im thinking of buying a 16ft power boat, its a 71 winner, i beleive
its fiberglass, and it has a honda 01, 50hp motor. I just want to joy
ride for the most part, knee boarding might be fun too.
It's my considered experience that the minimum HP for a 16-18 fiberglass
runnabout to do any kind of "pull-toy" work is 90hp. This from someone who
had 80 - 90 - 115 - 135 hp on the same boat in the same season. A really
light boat can get away with a 70hp. And remember to prop it correctly for
pulling stuff if you're at all low on HP.
