Ya know this (or a minor variation) works. Several years
ago I was in a local car dealer (Patrick) haggling over a
car. It became obvious that we were not about to come to
agreement, so I politely told the salesman such, and asked
for my car keys back (the trade in evaluation), He changed
the subject, and we went back and forth for a minute or 2.
I became insistent, finally asking if he wanted a scene, and
yet again he avoided my question. I jumped up, overturned
the table, and shouted at the top of my voice that he ahd
the dealer were G.D. Thieves and that unless I had my keys
in 10 seconds, I was calling the police and reporting it
stolen/ I followed the salesman to the managers office
swearing all the way, and got my keys without incident.
This was also on a Saturday with a full showroom.

Sometimes it helps to make a little noise.

or act like an immature idiot.

The OP is out thousands of dollars while the dealer tries to fix his broken
credit with the engine supplier. What would YOU do in the customer's
situation, you putz?

What would a putz do?

Well, he would overturn a table in a car dealership because he couldn't
control his childish emotions.

People never cease to cause me to shake my head.

Shake your head all you want -- but I got my keys back
within the 10 seconds I demanded. I hope I squelched a
couple of sales from those watching. I was in control at
all times, and in fact warned the salesman that I was about
to make a scene. What happened was his choice. Had he
accepted that we were not about to come to terms and
returned the keys like a gentleman, I would have thanked him
and walked away quietly.

I suppose you would have sat there and cried or something?
