Towing vehicle is Ford F150.
So your max towing weight is around 2k# including the trailer? That's
going to limit you to boats of about 1500# disp (empty weight really)
or less.

Your opinion of Ford trucks, or is there something about this truck

Should have said, what year & model? The ratings vary widely.... I
just saw an ad for the 2007 F-150 claiming a tow limit of 10500# which
is a heck of a lot.... but that's only one specific model & the other
models drop down to half that. The older trucks I'm more familiar with
have lower ratings.
The way to tell what the vehicle will tow, look at the CGVWR (total
weight the frame & drivetrain will get rolling & stop again) subtract
the vehicles weight, with fuel, passengers, luggage, etc... adds up
quickly. Then take about 75% of the remainder as a weight that it can
reasonably pull under real conditions, unless you are going dead slow
on cool days over flat terrain. Then remember that trailers are heavy,
500# and up.
We pulled a 2200# boat with a vehicle rated to pull 4k#, that worked
pretty well. You want to be able to keep up with traffic on hills & on
hot days.
