Where you been?

Around and about.... Music and astronomy are taking up most of my
evening
hours.... so I haven't had much time for the computer.

Unlike the Fat One, I actually use my telescope!!

This is a recent example http://www.lanode.com/priv/astro/m64.jpg

My sailing has been limited for the last couple of years, because my
teenage
sons were too old to come sailing with us, and they were too young to
leave
at home unsupervised!! This year, we are going sailing again. My wife
has
actually asked to go out on the boat.

What more could a man want?

A wife that stays home and watches the teenagers?

I also purchased a very nice telescope. It was a display model that I got
from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It is one of the largest
that Meade makes. It is far superior to the One of Largess plus the night
sky in my area is completely devoid of any light pollution.

If your kids are starting to drive consider the Toyota Corolla over the
Subaru Impreza. It has a far superior crash rating, far superior gas
mileage and is 1/2 the price.

Hosanna!

Donal, I forgot to mention that my Meade telescope is a custom built one of
a kind, made just for the Consumer Electronics Show. It was assembled by a
telescope maker of intertional repute, using the highest grade COTS optics.
It is not a factory Meade. I even had a concrete pad made just for the scope
which sit upon concrete pylons sunk 20 feet into the earth. Next is the
structure to put around it! I can remotely control with an extended bus from
my computer and replaced the eyepiece with a high quality scientific camera.
I hope to have it all together by September and will put up some pictures on
my website. I'm linking it with the local school so students can RC the
telescope/camera at night, it's pretty easy to do since I helped set up
their remote weather station too.

The Corolla is an outstanding value for your kids. 5 star crash rating for
the passenger and the driver. To get that in a Subaru Impreza you would have
to sit in the passenger seat and drive plus spend another 100% for the car
and 100% more for the lackluster fuel economy. You just can't beat a Corolla
for value.
