Should be fun on the chug chug.
Need a deck hand?
I've arranged for one of the guys that works at Kingman to go with me mainly
because he's a mechanic and an all around good guy. He's familiar with the
boat having maintained it for the previous owner for many years. I am not
familiar enough yet with the boat to go it alone on it's first longer
voyage.
You are more than welcome to come. It'll be a long, slow trip but you might
get a kick out of it. I am not sure what day yet ... it will probably be
either Sat or Sun (weather permitting).
I'll stay on the Navigator the night before and we'll likely leave early in
the morning. After we arrive I'll be giving Jeff (the mechanic) a ride back
to Kingman.
I have to check for slack tide though .... because of the canal. Usually it
takes about 45 minutes to go through it (obeying the speed limit), but if
the current is strong and opposing in the morning, it might be smarter to
wait for a while. I am getting a kick out of this. I've never had to be
concerned with it before with any of the other boats.
If your schedule is flexible and you'd like to join us, let me know.
