I got my 90 ETEC (blue freshwater version) in May of 2005 and I
absolutely love it. I don't have tons of time on it (not even sure how
to check the hours), but for my use (rec pontoon, some fishing) it has
been flawless. I have had zero problems with it. Well, to be honest, I
had the little Bombardier round label come off the other day.

Mine is set to the X100 oil and I haven't cracked the seal on the jug
of oil because the engine uses no oil. I'm serious. I put a mark on
the oil reservior when I bought it and it has moved about 3/16" of an
inch over two seasons.

I haven't had any issues at all (except for the little label) in my
experience. I did have the fuel pump replaced last year, but that was
a service directive from BRP, no problems on my end. I expected to
have some recalls due to the engine being new, but so far, only that
fuel pump recall. First scheduled maintainence is next spring.

Winterizaton is automatic. I just got mine out of winter storage last
weekend and it started on the first turn after sitting idle for 6
months. It starts faster than any of my cars and there is no smoke.

I believe all the raves for this engine are true. It's awesome in my
opinion and I recommend ETEC's to anyone who asks about my motor.
