Listen up, guys! Consider this: if Joe can be happy working as a fry
cook at McDonald's then you two shouldn't let it bother you that your
jobs are rather menial.
Indeed, it's all about being happy with what you are doing. Max
followed his dreams and is doing well as an eye expert.
BB writes tripe for a living, and if he is happy with his cracked keel
boat kinda living then more power to him.
As for Mickey D's I got tired of getting only a 5% raise yearly when
I heard the guys a Jack in the crack get 8% yearly. So last week I
went to the local clown in a box and pointed out grease on the floor
around the fryer and a slight bitterness in the fries and suggested
they lower the grease temp by 13 degrees creating better carmelization
of the sugar and starch in the frys. The manager was so happy he
offered me a job with a 25% raise, with a more define path to asst
mgr.
I gave two weeks notice and my old boss begged for me to stay, he
even offered to match my new offer. I told him thanks but no thanks.
IMO that would be an insane move..He's a cheap fellow and I feel if I
accepted I would be getting the raise only because I threated to
leave, thats like holding a gun to his head, and he would never forget
it. And my loyality will always be questioned.. No it's on to bigger
and better things for me.

See, there you go, Max and Bill, the virtues of having a positive
outlook on life.... Not everybody can be as successful as some of us.
Not everybody can own a Swan 68 and an Allied Seawind 32 and sail both
of them regularly. One in the Caribbean and one going back and forth
from the Caribbean to the Med. I made my money the old-fashioned way. I
engraved those plates to perfection. The hardest thing was the paper. I
ended up making my own.
