Default Is this a good deal on Hobie Cat 18?

A lot. Trailers are expensive too, although it's possible to store it
on some rollers on a friendly beach if you don't want to take it
anywhere by road. A new tramp will cost several hundred bucks and it's
not a good thing to skimp on, the tramp is very highly stressed and
needs to be very strong. I'll bet the running rigging is not in the
best of shape, there goes another couple hundred.

IMHO you'd be better off shopping the listings for a Hobie 18 (one of
the best boats they ever made) with a recent tramp & trailer in good
shape. Many boats that have been neglected take more money to put in
working shape than they will ever be worth... not that owning a boat
is profitable, anyway

Hope this helps.

This is his email.
Don't have a trailer. You might consider renting or borrowing one.
It needs a couple of mast stays, a new fabric for trampoline, new
ropes, new fabric for the left & right wings and good clean up since
its been in the weather. Sails & dagger boards have been stored out
of the weather.

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Thanks
