Does these other suites include a firewall which also:
****CONTROLS OUTBOUND ACTIVITY*****???

Ahh. Yes, both the ZA beta and the Kaspersky release version do. For
some
strange reason, the firewall MS packed in with VISTA does not. Weird,
eh?

Not that weird. Some products are sold because somebody will buy them,
not
because there's anything compelling about them.

The ZA outbound activity checks are part of what I consider normal
firewall security. So I guess you were talking about there not being
a "compelling" security reason to get Vista.
You'd a thunk such security would come with a ballyhooed new OS.
So I agree with Harry that it's weird. No. Shocking.

Yes, especially considering that outbound antics are the trademark of some
of the worst computer threats. I think some of MS' products are works of
art, and examples of magnificent programming (Excel, for instance), but in
the area of security, the company is truly pathetic.
