Bayliner 16 ft, Fish and Ski...
Just a quick update on the boat...
I had it out a couple times this past week and I'm happy to announce
that it does indeed float. The engine runs (make a bit of smoke, and
a gas smell at times), but moves fairly well. I had it up to 28 MPH
(per my handheld GPS unit). It gets on plane OK, but I'm still
learning how to use the tilt/trim to my best advantage. There was
still some throttle left to use, but I had no desire to go faster. I
won't be putting it back into the water until Tuesday when the holiday
crowd is gone in Virginia Beach.
I still need to find a boat mechanic to give it a look over and make
sure it's not ready to blow up at any moment. but overall, I'm happy
with the purchase and the performance. Now to make it better looking!
One thing I need to do soon (like today/tomorrow) is to reqwire the
trailer. the current lights do not work. Can I simply zip tie the
wires to the trailer? Or must they be run inside the trailer frame?
I guess I can just tie the new wires to the old wires and pull them
through. We shall see...
Take care,
Brian
