Default Hey Max!

Oz,

Due taking Predisone For my MG I developed Cataracts in both Eyes. I had
plastic lenses put in both eyes.

I had double vision due to the Myasthenia Gravis. It required some
pretty high doses of Predisone to help the eye muscles to correct the DV
but screwed up the lenses
The plastic lenses were a God Send.

When I get tired the double vision acts up and when I read (Close
Vision) it is still there but they put a prism in the bifocals that lets
me read the 'fine print'

P/S I still take 10 mg of Pred. ever other day. I can't get off it but
10 eod isn't to bad.

Good luck with your decision. I myself find no problem with glasses and
they do add protection.

Ahh OK, so you still wear glasses.
The op I'm considering is same as cataract surgery except taht a
multifocal lense is implanted.

Still haven't decided yet, still researching, but for my still active
lifestyle tossing the glasses would be a boon.

Pity I don't have cataracts,, the op would be under $500/eye but if
it's elective then it pumps up to $4500 each ;-(

In the USA, clear lens exchange (what you are contemplating) is roughly the
same cost. The same procedure utilizing a single-vision implant for
cataracts is reimbursed by Medicare at $855 per eye, global fee. Ever
wonder where the extra charges come from for CLR? I do every day.
