Default buying a boat in Mexico?

The process should be the same as if you are purchasing a boat in BVI
or the like. You need to find a qualified surveyor who can tell you
pros/cons of the boat. You also need to know if the boat hull is
subject to a tax if brought into the US. This is the same as if you
purchased a French made vessel in the Caribbean and brought it back to
the US. The gov would be looking for some money.

As far as the currency I don't think it will matter because the Peso
is tied to the Dollar. 10 peso to 1 dollar. One advantage is you
might not have to pay sales tax.

I'm headed to Mazatlan in 8 days, so I'm curious where the vessel is.
