In engineering, we dealt in quantitative (not qualitative)
analysis.

dentistry, we practice medicine based upon science (ie--cause and
effect,
and determinism) rather than chaos theory.

Chaos theory is real science.

It's not "real" medicine however...at least not real *Western* medicine.
Perhaps the holistic folks who treat psychosomatic diseases delve into
the
realm of chaos theory and its application to medicine...but not
dentists...and not reputable physicians.

Knucklehead. Talk to a few oncologists about how research is done to find
the causes of cancer, and how an understanding of complex systems is
inexorably tied to that research.


The key words are "research"...and "causes". Once a disease has manifested,
a doctor treats the patient to rid him/her of that disease...and the doc is
employing medical techniques that are based on "knowns"...not in
"randomness".

Regardless, you've managed to pull an OT thread even further OT. My
original thread posed a question to *HARRY*. And, ironically, you chastised
