We had a pretty fast trip, at least for this old wide-body cruising
boat. Left Puerto Vallarta April 1 at 0600 and arrived Hiva Oa April
23 same time. I think that's 22 days? Not too bad for over 2800
miles, but admittedly the favorable 1+ knot current we enjoyed most of
the way helped some.
Finally got to an island with not only internet, but wifi, so I am
sitting in the cockpit at anchor here in Taiohae Bay, enjoying a
pretty decent bottle of French wine, and just thought I'd let you know
the weather is here, and wish you were beautiful, or something like
that.
More about the trip and some pics if I ever get them uploaded (having
a little trouble getting on)www.sailinglinks.com/notes.htm
Now you can go back to politics and meow stuff...

Best,

Hey Mike! Wow! I didn't think you'd get there that fast! Is Barbie on
her way out now? You lucky duck, getting to do this...what a blast you
must be having...Pau for real...

Yep, it's way cooler than virtual voyaging, and yep, I do feel like a
pretty lucky lil ducky.
Barbie has her ticket, which she somehow got for only $500 some, and
will be flying into Papeete the same day my crew flys out, 31st of
May.
Sorry she's missing the Marquesas, though, because they are really
beautiful islands with mostly pretty wonderful people.
I'll let you know about the Tuamotus- some say they are great, but
they won't have the dramatic beauty these high islands have.
Getting Chanteuse out much?
