Dad says the old family name was Amerault. She married an Englishman,
Hanabal, and they moved to Boston, Gloucester, and eventually back to
Maine. We are spread all along the coast. He talked of finding an
Amerault Hill Rd. once in their travels, but could not remember what
town. They would vacation in Peggys Cove when they were not searching
old records or milling around old grave sites. I think that's acutally
where he wants to visit along with Digby. We got a lot of info over
the winter including a DVD of Halifax. Looks real nice. They never
taught us anything about the war or the Titanic graves in school,
seems a shame.
Sounds like a French Acadian name. Just south west of Digby and almost
down to Yarmouth is called the French Shore.http://www.pbase.com/mucker/acadian_shore

Yeah, French Acadian is in me. Great links, the architecture, color,
and proud lines on the boats. I can see why mom loved it up there so
much. Thanks for the links, off to do some reading. This is really
sparking some excitement for pop, now he's going off on how great the
potatoes are, so I guess we will be eating scallops and potatoes, fine
with me, I like to eat.
