Perhaps in the future the commercial boating magazine for which you
write will change its name to Northwest Cartopper, and you can regale us
with tours of the plastic canoe factory.- Hide quoted text -

Such a tale wouldn't begin to compare with the story of a guy who
lived in Florida, posted to rec.boats, and claimed to own a very fancy
Hatteras.
Several posters in that era expressed serious doubt regarding the
veracity of the claim, and when challenged to "come down anytime you
like and see for yourself!", one did.

As I recall, when he tracked down the address of the only person with
the appropriate name living in the little town where the poster with
the supposed Hatteras claimed to reside, he encountered an extremely
humble dwelling in a portion of town where folks of less-than-moderate
means were known to live.
...

Are you on drugs now? The last two, no, three times "my address" was
"discovered" by rec.boaters, they had me in Jacksonville (where I didn't
live), somewhere in Alexandria, VA (where I didn't live), and somewhere
in a Maryland suburb (where I've never even visited). This is kind of
humorous, because I'm "in the phone book."

You're really trying, Chuckster. Perhaps you ought to stick to spamming
this newsgroup and netcopping. You do better at both of those. How about
a nice visit to the Bayliner factory, where you can discover the latest
techniques in building "price" boats?- Hide quoted text -

That's a weird response, Harry.

Nowhere in that post did I even mention your name.

Why do you think that post had anything to do with you?

If it was so far off base, why did you feel the need to defend
yourself?

Take a look at the two of us, what a pair. One of us is a "spammer and
netcop". The other is a proven liar, for all intents and purposes a
non-boater, a poster of septic tank stories and soft porn sites, a
political troll, and a bitter computer geek who likes to flame in a
bunch of different newsgroups. We should have very little to say to
one another, as apart from both being assholes we don't have anything
in common. Aside from the proven fact that you cannot exist without
somebody to attack all the time, there's no reason for your posts to
so frequently contain greasy little spitwads with my name on them.- Hide quoted text -

It's ok chuck, my turn to be reasonable. Like in any society, many
here don't care for either one of you, or me for that matter. The
difference is most of us have respect for your boating knowledge, and
in spite of our protests, with a grain of salt are usually interested
in what you have to say. Personally, I do trust you come here with
good intention, and I would guess that most others do too. harry,
well, there is just no substance there. I would not bother with him if
I were you.
