I hear you, I spent 30 bucks on my 1961 Econoline Truck and need to
buckle down and re-coup that money ;0). It has a 144 CI six banger...
0-55 in 3.4 min. Quarter mile in just under 138 seconds. Hard to
harness all 75 HP. I'm going to add wheelie bars soon.

Mine goes a little harder than that...

Kewl automobile. Price seems a bit high, but it should be fun.

There were only about 80 ever built and many were destroyed in
accidents.

Mine is an ex factory car with a genuine race history, one of only 17
built to that particular specification and putting out a cool 350BHP
from its 2litre supercharged engine.
It's worth every penny I paid for it both to me (I've been chasing one
for nearly 10 years) and as a collectors car.

I'll be racing it on the very rare event, did about 30 laps at Laguna
Seca a couple of weeks back and loved every second.

You mentioned the Super 7, I have a modern 7, one of these

80% complete in my garage.
It's fitted with a 2L Ford Zetec slightly worked and dry sumped and a
Quaife gearbox and diff.
Been building it for 3 years now and it'll be quite something when
done, capable of 0-60mph in just over 4 secs hopefully.

Looks very similar to the Lotus in my garage. And it sounds fantastic.
I've had the opportunity to own the Lotus, but I've deferred, knowing the
current owner won't be able to replace it, regardless of his adamant
insistence that he will. I won't take advantage of him, but I'd love to
race the car in clubman events. I will, however, buy his prodified Viper
next year when he retires it from SCCA events. Can't wait.
