There use to be a fleet of boats in the gulf that had the same type
set-up, it was a company called Botruck.


I wonder if it's a better ride? I heard the botrucks slammed pretty
hard, but they did not have as narrow an entry.


Anyone ever see a sailboat with this type of bow?
Rec cruiser with one?

I think it's very attractive, function dictating form.

Now the older botrucks were the ugliest boat afloat, I imagine they
are all gone now, as most were buildt in the 1950's. They had a normal
bottom but everything above the waterline was inverted, I was told
that in mild seas they rode well, but when in large seas they pounded
so hard it would knock your teeth out slamming on the dash. The Orca
looks like a canoe bow.
