Wax on wax off question
Gelcoat oxidizes and white gelcoats yellow. I would suspect that is what
you are seeing rather than old wax. You could confirm by wiping a spot down
with some alcohol or a harse detergent. That will remove any old wax and if
it is still yellow then your problem is the gelcoat. Since gelcoat is
generally pretty thick you can usually use a fine buffing compound on it.
That will take off a little and restore more of the original color.

My boat needs a wax job and is a little yellow. What do I use to clean it
before I wax it?
