Not that fund raising isn't important - it is. However does that
belong on a boating newsgroup? Or does it have to be a boating
related charity? Would it have been better to email members of this
august body mentioning your admirable support of this charity? Did the
post belong here where, in theory, only boats and boating is supposed
to be discussed?

What applies to one should apply for the other - or is that too

I don't know the rules as applied by Fearless Leader Chuck - they seem
somewhat arbitrary.

I've always felt the big no-nos were political and religious posts. They
are the ones which usually cause the fighting, although some folks will
fight over anything.

Your copy and paste of the Muslim women's treatment definitely bordered on
the politcal/religious, either of which has been known to cause extreme
flamefests.

But....you made your point. I will post no more about my daughter or the
Race for the Cure, except to state how much I finally paid. I surely don't
want my integrity impugned, again, by some moron who can't read.
