I absolutely love my D70. On only one occasion I picked up a little
moire when
photographing the house (aluminum siding) in bright sunshine.

The 'kit' lens is an 18-70mm, and is very sharp. The reviews are
great.

purchased the 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor (go to:

Yikes...that's a big chunka glass there...and heavy. I have the slower
Nikkor 70-200 zoom and can barely handhold it at 200 mm. I'm hoping to
see a fixed focal length 70 mm f2, for my portrait stuff.





I use two 512 MB Lexar Media cards and the 'Jumpshot' usb
downloading
device.
Never had a problem.

Even being prior military, I was able to take the camera out of the
box, use the
'quick' directions and take some pictures of pets, etc, that I
thought
were
fantastic. I've made 8x10 blowups of cropped images that are
spectacular in
their clarity and sharpness. I use the Canon i960 printer for photos
and get
great results.

the i960 is a fine printer. Are you using canon paper?




The vibration reduction feature built into the lens makes it very
possible
to
take shots without a tripod. I can see the lens moving, but the
pictures
have
been great.

I've been using Epson photo paper from Costco. Have had great luck with
it, but
haven't compared it to the Canon paper. I use the 'Photo Paper Pro'
setting on
the printer.
